I used to have this hobby - eat, eat and eat. As for me, there are only two pleasure things in this world - eat and play! Haha~! LOL~! But since I have graduated from my college, I have to control my eating habit which would gain me extra pounds and you would surely know, being called as "fat" is the scariest thing for women. And as I browsed around as usual last night, I found this unique website www.theworlds50best.com that has a list of world's best restaurants.
This website is belonged to the S. Pellegrino Restaurant Magazine which supports the restaurant industry in UK, and of course, all over the globe. This magazine is based in London's Regent Street and was launched in 2001.
The list of S. Pellegrino's 50 Best Restaurant in The World is done by the votes of The Nespresso World's 50 Best Restaurants Academy. They divide the world into regions, with a chairperson in each region appointed for their knowledge of their part of the restaurant world. These chairs each selected a voting panel, who cast a total of 3,410 votes.
This year they have fine-tuned the system and added another region taking the total to 23, to ensure The S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants list is as reflective of the world restaurant industry as possible.
There is no list of nominees; each member of their international voting panel votes for his personal choice of five restaurants. He or they may vote for up to two restaurants in their own region, the remaining votes must be cast outside their home region. Nobody is allowed to vote for their own restaurant and voters must have eaten in the restaurants they nominate within the past 18 months.
So, from those that I mentioned, they finally come out with this 2008 list:
