The New Version Of PayPal Scams - An Email With A Link To Click

I was really shocked when I received an email from MalaysiaPal, a website that discusses about PayPal issues; there is a new version of PayPal scams. They imitate the PayPal email interface, and also they attract you with some interesting news or large sum of money, which they would claim it comes from your customer.

So, if u ever received an email from PayPal which requires you to change all, or some, or any important information about you, please make sure that you do not ever click on the link given by the email. What you can do is, whenever you receive such email, please go to the PayPal official website, and login through the PayPal official website to check about your account. Whatever links given by the email, they might insert any secret codes or whatever, to trace your personal information (such as email and password) whenever you login to the PayPal through the links. This will then let them to have all your money inside your PayPal account, and in the same time, close your account.

Again, as a reminder, whenever you receive an email that claims it is from PayPal, please make sure that your PayPal account name (individual or business name) is stated in front of your email, rather than your email alone. This is because the scammers can not detect your PayPal account name. They usually send the email by random.

However, as the safest way, just make sure that you never ever click on any links given, or login through any other websites. Please login and change all your information ONLY through PayPal official website. For your reference, please have a look at the example of an email, sent by a scammer to one of the PayPal members.

Subject: Item Not Received Dispute Open Case #PP-214-997-154
From: service@paypal.com

Ben Freckmann has opened a dispute for the payment made to you
on nov. 15, 2006 indicating that they never received the item.

Your Transaction ID:8VL41716TP118284D
Buyer's Transaction ID:2V184750WV419180C

There are many reasons why this might have happened. It could
be that the item is still in transit or was accidentally
delivered to the wrong address. Sometimes buyers open a non
receipt dispute too soon because they underestimate how long
it can take for shipping and delivery.

By opening this dispute, Ben Freckmann is asking for your
help to resolve this issue. This is your best opportunity
to resolve this problem before the buyer escalates it to a
PayPal claim or files a chargeback with their card issuer.

To close this dispute go to:

So, please be careful and take this as a serious matter~! Good luck~!
